Planning for the Life Course
Workshop offered by IAI on June 17th in Toronto.
The workshop presented strategies and techniques of setting life goals and objectives for our children. The participants had a chance to learn and apply specific tools to help them plan for a more meaningful life in their community, with friendships and choice and control over where to live and how to spend their days. The tools can be used both in the IEP setting and as a long-term guidance. We plan to make this workshop available in other cities. The event was combined with the IAI Annual General Membership Meeting. Language & Literacy Instruction for Students with Complex Needs in the Inclusive Classroom

This workshop explored evidence-based strategies to ensure that ALL students can develop their language and literacy skills through their exposure to - and participation in - the regular curriculum. Strategies to Build Natural and Peer Supports in School and within the Community
Organized by IAI and Community Living Kingston, on June 4th, 2016 in Kingston.
Presented by Norman Kunc and Emma Van der Klift. The speakers explored how to build natural support strategies to foster deeper inclusion and participation in school and community. They examined the difference between “peer helpers” versus natural peer supports and thought about mutually beneficial support arrangement. The workshop was combined with the IAI Annual General Membership Meeting. |
